A pair of earrings and a vest Whitney Houston wore in the movie The Bodyguard will go on the auction block next month, valued at $400-600 and $600-$800, respectively. This Houston auction was decided less than a week after she had passed away.
Celebrity auctioneer Darren Julien gained the items to be included in the Hollywood Legends auction. The auction will be held at Julien’s Auctions in Beverly Hills on March 31 and April 1.
The Houston auction will feature earrings and vest, along with several dresses, including a floor-length, black velvet dress valued at $1,000-$2,000.
This particular auction will also include memorabilia such as Charlie Chaplin’s cane, the jacket that Clark Gable wore in Gone With the Wind, and the staff Charlton Heston used in The Ten Commandments.
Houston Auction Too Soon After Her Death?
When asked if it was too soon for a Houston auction to auction off her memorabilia, Julien instead dismissed the question.
“It’s a celebration of her life,” the auctioneer stated. “If you hide these things in fear that you’re going to offend someone – her life is to be celebrated. These items are historic now that she passed. They become a part of history. They should be in museums.”
RIP, Whitney. EnoAuctions.
